Getting started

How do I install ReachOut?

Install it from the Chrome Web Store, pin the icon to your toolbar, and open any LinkedIn profile (a URL like linkedin.com/in/…). Click the ReachOut icon — that opens the popup.

Do I need to make an account?

Yes, but only one screen: email + password. No credit card. Free plan gives you 3 emails per 24 hours, no time limit on the account.

Does ReachOut work on profiles other than LinkedIn?

Not right now. It's built specifically for LinkedIn profile URLs. We don't read the page contents — we only read the URL slug — so other sites aren't supported.

Using the extension

Why is the "AI Compose" tab locked?

Compose unlocks once an email has been found for the profile — either by clicking "Find Email" or because that profile already has a saved email in your History tab.

The email it found shows "Best guess · unverified." What does that mean?

Our verified-email partners couldn't pinpoint this person, so we constructed a likely address using the company's most common email pattern (e.g. {first}.{last}@company.com). These often work, but you should expect a higher bounce rate than verified emails. We don't count guesses against your daily quota.

The "Send via Gmail" button just opens a new tab — why?

That's by design. We open Gmail's native compose window pre-filled with the recipient, subject, and body — you review the draft and click Send. We never send email on your behalf, which means no Google OAuth permissions to approve and no risk of mass-sending mistakes.

How does the resume upload work?

Click "Upload Resume" in the top bar and pick a PDF or .txt. We extract the text on our server (the file itself is never stored) and store the text locally in your browser. It's automatically woven into every AI-generated email so drafts reference specific projects, skills, or experiences from your resume.

Pro plan + billing

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes 3 metered actions in any rolling 24-hour window (a "metered action" = finding a verified email or generating an AI draft). Pro raises that to 30 per 24 hours — $8/month, or $20 every 3 months. Both plans include unlimited resume uploads, profile lookups, and history.

How do I cancel?

In the extension popup, click "Manage billing →" in the footer (Pro plan). That opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep Pro access until then.

I paid but my extension still shows Free. What do I do?

Sign out and sign back in. The plan is tied to your account, not your install, so a fresh sign-in pulls the latest state. If it's still wrong after that, email us with the email you used at checkout.

I'm on a different computer — do I get Pro there too?

Yes. Sign in with the same email on any device and Pro carries over automatically.

Refund policy?

We don't auto-issue prorated refunds, but if you believe a charge was a mistake or the product didn't work for you, email us within 14 days and we'll review case-by-case.

I forgot my password

Email us at hello@reachout.careers from the email you signed up with. We'll trigger a password reset.

How do I delete my account?

Email us. We'll wipe your row, usage history, and any Stripe customer record within 7 days.

What data does ReachOut collect about me?

Email address, anonymous usage timestamps (for the rolling 24h quota), and the slug of any LinkedIn profile you actively click the popup on. Your resume text is stored locally on your device and sent to us only at draft-generation time. We don't scrape LinkedIn pages, don't track your browsing, and don't sell data.
